Asia CEO Forum Asia Real Estate Summit 2015

Future looks exciting for the Philippines!  That seems to be the general consensus from Asia's top leaders investing in real estate here in the Philippines.

Asia CEO Forum Real Estate Summit 2015 was a power-packed two-day event (May 21-22) at Makati Diamond Residences.   The event was organized by Chalre Associates, spearheaded by the dynamic husband and wife team: Richard Mills and Rebecca Bustamante-Mills.

I'vc posted video clips below:

Arnel Casanova, President and CEO of Bases Conversion and Development Authority

"We are sending mayors to Singapore for rural urban training...50 of our people.  In fact we have 16 scholars now..  We're bringing them outside of the country so they would be exposed to the best practices globally.  Of course, the mayors of surrounding cities and municipalities, we will help them come up with their own master plans so we can consolidate our regional master plan for the Metropolitan district of Central Luzon, starting with Clark City."

Charlie Rufino, President NET Group

"Mass Transit System Loop Project is called the Dream Plan because it's 375 billion pesos.  It's going to be hard to see that in my lifetime...very complete, this is the area that goes under McKinley road. ..It has to go maybe 7 storeys down"

Dr. Eduardo Ong, Chairman, Board of Real Estate Service, PRC

"ASEAN Economic Community: free flow of professional services, goods, and skilled workers.  Since I'm connected with Professional Regulation Commission, we are looking at this free flow of professional services and skill. "

Eric Manuel, Vice President of Daiichi Properties

"A good design leads to happy, healthy, productive employees, which means more profitable tenant.  What's the most important material in construction or real estate?  Concrete, glass, someone will say steel... Actually what we believe in our company it's the people, collaboration between people in real estate.  I look at the room and there's so much conversation I need to make with all of you to ensure we build projects of quality and hopefully it has a good impact on the community.  I look forward to working with you.  I'm here for good.  This is my home now.  And hopefully we can make a better Philippines."

Lars Wittig, Country Manager, Regus Philippines

"A sports magazine noted the notion of having to work  commuting to the same place, that notion is dead today.  In the Philippines we know that well because the commute in EDSA is an excellent example...unfortunately in a few weeks it will be a more extreme example as Buendia will be closed for two years.  During the working day we often get stranded, we go to a meeting too cumbersome, to rejoin our office, perhaps too early to go home...we stay at a coffee shop, not exactly a professional workspace.  Besides the technology now and so called millennials rarely allow people to work anywhere and anyway...  Considering the impact of ending that daily commute, it basically reduces cost, stress and environmental damage.  We all live in the same planet.  We have to preserve it, means also a lot to the people we try to employ and retain because it creates loyalty towards the company.  It is the employer that must take the lead in what's happening to minimize fixed costs, running costs for economical and sustainable long term solutions.  Keep the work force loyal and productive.  This means energy efficient buildings, less traditional workforce, multiple locations."
