Viva O’Flynn of Love Viva Cakes and Crafts organised a Women’s Month FUNtastic Fair at St. Mary De Crypt on Saturday, the 7th of March. FUNtastic Fair empowered women through entrepreneurship. Traders included: Jacqueline Hammond, VE Jewelry, All Sorts by Mel, Arty Trees, Jane Cantwell Jewelry Cellar, Henna Kraft by Sim, Be the best version of you by Becky, Yvonne Denman Utility Warehouse, Tallies Eco Crafts, Paper Lane Boutique, TR Jewellery Gifts, Et si Le Loup, Art Shape, Love Viva Cakes and Crafts. FUNtastic Fair had delicious cakes, lovely handmade crafts, gifts, and shopping for everyone.
Viva, who is originally from the Philippines, has previously worked as a journalist, event organiser and chef amongst other things before setting up her company Love Viva Cakes and Crafts.
“I’ve recently won in all three categories of a Fairtrade Bake off at St. Stephen’s Church in Cinderford,” she said.
“Those categories were: Vegan (First Prize), Twelve of the Same and Freestyle Categories (Both in Second Prize).
“Love Viva Cakes and Crafts also won Creative Business of the Year awarded by Women’s Business Club last year.”
For Women’s International Day, Women’s Business Club recognised Viva as Top 5 Business Women “Viva has been a long-standing member of Gloucester Women's Business Club and has made our Top 5 for being the most determined start-up we have ever seen. Behind her quiet and gentle nature is one tenacious businesswoman and we really admire her.”
Viva recently organised a Women’s Month FUNtastic Fair, and she says that event and others before it have been very popular.
“Our previous fairs have all gone well,” she continued. “We’re building a following, increasing footfall per fair and all the stall holders are constantly happy selling their wares. We've had Gloucester MP Richard Graham, Gloucester Mayor Colin Organ, and Gloucester Sheriff Cllr. Collette Finnegan as our special guests.”
